Foxes Collaboration

Founded in 2012, The Foxes initiative comprises a collaborative network of local primary schools that have chosen to strengthen their educational efforts through partnership. Currently, the schools within this alliance include Hemington Primary School, Kegworth Primary School, Rothley C of E Primary School, St. Bartholomew's C of E Primary School, Swithland St Leonard's C of E Primary School and Wymeswold C of E Primary School. This partnership aims to optimise the educational outcomes for all children enrolled in the participating schools by implementing a sustainable model of school improvement.

At the heart of The Foxes' mission is a shared vision of collective growth and support. The partnership aspires to create robust systems in collaboration that maximally enhance school improvement. Each school develops mutual relationships that foster collective success, reflecting their commitment to working in concert towards common objectives.

In addition to the collaborative efforts of Headteachers, the establishment of a Deputy Headteacher group has further contributed to the partnership's efficacy. This group facilitates regular meetings that provide invaluable mutual support and insight into best practices among schools.

The Foxes engage in various activities to ensure the well-being and development of their schools. One key responsibility is maintaining an effective relationship with the Education Effectiveness Team (EET) at the Local Authority, which aids in monitoring the overall health of the partnership and understanding the individual school improvement needs. The partnership also sets collective priorities and targets, effectively allocates budgets and monitors financial performance. Furthermore, self-evaluation processes are supported to identify both strengths and areas for development within each school.

By rotating the position of Chair and ensuring timely communication of meeting minutes and agendas, transparency within the partnership is maintained. The Foxes actively seek opportunities for shared training and development, facilitating networking for staff across various roles. The collaboration also extends to the procurement of resources and services, ensuring that all children within the partnership benefit from a wide array of educational opportunities.

During the year 2025-2026 our aim of the Foxes collaborate is to further embed upon the School Partnership Programme (SPP). This is a leadership development programme that develops critical self-evaluation through peer review whilst empowering other members of staff through their Improvement Champion role to gain a valuable insight to school improvement. Reflection and learning are powerful components in this process.

In addition to this as a Foxes collaborative group we endeavour to further enhance our teaching and learning offer through the effective integration of artificial intelligence (AI). Additionally, we will interrogate our staff well-being and explore how AI can assist us in achieving this in a meaningful and purposeful manner. Furthermore, we are committed to increasing our English specialism by enhancing our knowledge, research, understanding and moderation practices across our schools to ensure a high standard of education for all of our children.
