Since 2024, all schools have been required to follow the National guidance: 'Working together to improve school attendance.' Following this, Leicestershire County Council also issued a local code of conduct. The purpose of this was to ensure that penalty notices for school absences are issued in a manner that is fair and consistent across Leicestershire County Council.
Requests for holidays within term time will not be authorised; the guidance on this is very clear and also has a 'rolling' element - in that absence is considered in 10 week blocks.
